Shaped by Ice: How the Ice Ages Created Westborough’s Landscape
Learn how the Ice Ages created Westborough’s landscape. If you stood anywhere in and around Westborough 18,000 years ago, you would have been under a glacier a mile thick. About 8,000 years later, the ice was gone, leaving the landscape we see today. We will walk around the Headwaters Conservation Area with Andy Koenigsberg to look at some of the land features shaped by ice and by water as the ice receded. He will talk about the geologic history of Westborough and how the changing climate that is part of our Ice Age legacy provides lessons for our future.
Meet at Mill Pond School parking lot. Trail Maps: http://westboroughcharm.org/guide/maps/hca_trail_map.pdf http://westboroughcharm.org/guide/maps/mill_pond_map.pdf Contact: events@westboroughlandtrust.org |
